Today was my first day in the city and that means that the theme of the day was trade. After just a few meters through San Blas, the district where I live, which describes itself as an artists’ quarter, where there are lots of handicrafts and also many tourists, I stumbled into a store that exhibits alpaca goods, I almost bought the whole store, fantastic jackets, sweaters, with wonderful patterns, all very beautiful! Unfortunately, I couldn’t fit another sheet of paper into my rucksack, so shopping was out of the question \u2026

The streets are full of life, much of it, of course, for the presumed pleasure of the tourists, which can also be in front of an old Inca wall.

Because I wanted to see something, I also went to an out-of-the-way neighborhood, where the overall impression was different than before.

The hustle and bustle in the city is enormous \u2026
At the back of the picture you can see the square in front of the San Pedro market hall.

and of course there were unusual things to see and buy.

There was also a stall with 12 different types of potatoes, just 12 \u2026
In this market hall there was of course everything to buy, non-food and above all food. I didn’t know many of the fruit varieties, there were great juices on offer, as well as food stalls.

And then the big change, it started to rain and (of course) the whole life in the streets suddenly looked different. As it had rained every day so far, this was not an unusual situation, most people were unimpressed and well prepared.

Like many others, I took a cab to the nearest town.

It rained cats and dogs for about an hour and then everything was back to normal: the temperature had dropped to 15 degrees during the rain, then it rose again to around 22 degrees. I’m writing these lines now, sitting in the sun on the terrace of my hotel. And I notice how strong the sun’s rays are, the altitude is also clearly noticeable here. In general, the temperature changes a lot during the day, I get up in the morning freezing slightly at around 12 degrees, after breakfast the onion removal process begins, right through to the T-shirt at midday and from around 5 p.m., when the sun disappears behind the first houses, the dressing starts again. Yesterday evening I was able to sit outside in a restaurant, but that was only possible with the heating element.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
