Today was the day again. We started at 8:00 a.m. with our guide Khanh and my German assistant 😊. The market was crowded, lively, and diverse. The work was enjoyable. Khanh had a keen eye for potential subjects and also explained his culture to us: Vietnamese people do not want to be disturbed while eating. This naturally led to discussions when I was concerned that the light was changing for the worse. So, two cultures were discussing each other on set, naturally with understanding for the other side.

Like yesterday, many salespeople (mostly women) laughed today, but some strictly refused to be photographed or didn’t want me to stand in front of their stall to photograph the opposite side, which is something I’m already familiar with..
We got through it very well.
I am happy and satisfied!

And here, for once, is a video:

Of course, the work is exhausting. The stress, the humidity, the noise… Khanh said on several occasions that the subjects wanted to make a “big deal” out of it, although they rarely asked for money.

Back at the wonderful hotel, we were told that we would be getting a room upgrade, and before we knew it, we found ourselves in a “villa,” eight of which are located around a wonderful pool, complete with a bar, of course. I’m actually someone who likes to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of life, but being able to relax and unwind here in peace and quiet is (also) wonderful! At the end of the trip, I treat myself to some tropical time off in addition to work. Therefore, it could be that we still won’t see the Imperial Palace today….
